Understanding Map View vs List View

Map View vs List View

The Ranger dashboard allows you to monitor and manage your Band24 tracked assets using two complementary views: Map View and List View.

Both views display the same asset and device information, but they present the data in different ways depending on how you want to interact with your assets.

Map View

Map View displays the geographic location of your Band24 devices on an interactive map.

This view is helpful when you want to:

  • See where your assets are located

  • Monitor the last reported location of a device

  • Quickly identify assets within a specific area

Each Band24 device appears as a marker on the map. Selecting a marker will display additional information about that asset and allow you to open its Asset Detail Page.

List View (Asset Details Panel)

List View is located on the left side of the Ranger dashboard within the Asset Details panel. This panel displays your tracked assets in a table format.

This view is useful when you want to:

  • Search for a specific asset or device

  • Sort and organize assets

  • Quickly review the status of multiple devices

From List View you can see information such as:

  • Asset name

  • Device ID

  • Last seen timestamp

  • Assigned group or category

Selecting an asset from the list will open the Asset Detail Page, where you can view additional information and activity history for that asset.

Using Map View and List View Together

Map View and List View work together to help you quickly locate and manage your assets.

Use Map View to visualize where assets are located geographically, and use List View in the Asset Details panel to search, organize, and select assets for deeper inspection.

Switching Between Views

You can switch between Map View and List View by selecting Map View or Asset Details (List View) page on the left hand navigation bar.
