Band24 allows you to configure alerts that notify your team when important activity occurs with your tracked assets. Alerts help you stay informed about asset movement, device status, and other operational events within the Ranger dashboard.
Alerts are configured within Ranger and can send notifications when a selected condition is triggered. This allows teams to monitor assets without needing to constantly watch the dashboard.
How Alerts Work
Alerts monitor activity from your Band24 devices and trigger notifications when certain conditions are met.
Examples of alert triggers may include:
An asset entering or leaving a SmartSite
A device not being detected for a period of time
A low battery event
Unexpected movement of an asset
When the alert condition is triggered, Ranger automatically sends a notification based on the settings configured for that alert.
β
Alert Notification Methods
Alerts can notify users through different methods depending on how the alert is configured.
β
Email Notifications
Email notifications send alert details directly to the selected recipients. These notifications include information such as the asset name, the event that occurred, and the time the event was detected.
Email alerts are useful when:
Multiple stakeholders need to be notified
Teams want a record of alert activity
Alerts need to be reviewed outside the Ranger dashboard
In-Dashboard Alerts
Alerts are also visible within the Ranger dashboard, allowing users to review activity directly inside the platform.
These alerts allow you to:
Quickly review asset events
Open the related asset directly from the alert
Investigate activity using the Asset Detail Page and Activity History
Best Practices for Alerts
To get the most value from alerts:
Configure alerts only for important operational events
Ensure the correct team members are assigned as recipients
Review alerts periodically to ensure they match your workflow
Well configured alerts help your team stay informed about important asset activity while reducing the need for manual monitoring.
