Band24 devices report their location when they are detected by nearby devices participating in the Band24 network. Because of this, the last reported location may not always reflect the asset’s current real time position.
If a device appears to be showing an incorrect location, consider the following:
Check the Last Seen Timestamp
Open the Asset Detail Page in the Ranger dashboard and review the Last Seen timestamp.
If the device has not recently been detected, the map may be showing the last known location rather than the current location.
Allow Time for Network Detection
Band24 devices rely on nearby phones or devices to detect their Bluetooth® signal. If the asset is in a low traffic or remote area, it may take longer for the location to update.
Confirm the Device Is Active
If the device has not been detected recently, verify:
The device battery is functioning properly
The device has not been damaged or removed from the asset
Once the device is detected by the network again, its location will update in Ranger.
